Comrade Tong,
I received your letter, thanks a lot for your enthusiastic help. You are a guide of us the victims and you made us aware of the due responsibilities that Japanese government and Japanese invadors should take. Here I would like to salute you with the highest respect on behalf of numerous victims and their families.
On the unforgettable December 16th,1937(the second day of the Chinese Lantern Festival), after lunch, the Japanese army swept from Yaopu Stronghold to Southeast looting, killing and burning everywhere. With his body to cover my grandmother and my father, my grandfather was stabbed 7 times by the ruthless Japanese and died. Our farm cattle and properties were totally ransacked, and our houses and stored food were all burnt down. According to an old man’s recall, those heartless executioners even threw grenades to a burrow behind our village when they heard a kid’s crying from it, killing nearly 10 people of two families. Such indisputible evidences are too many to be listed. The Japanese invadors should pay reparations for the crimes they committed to the Chinese people. Therefore I strongly urge Japanese government to pay me my deserved compensations, about which I also would like to receive your directions. I look forward to your reply. I understand you are busy, so I’d like to help you in any way, but I don’t know what I can do. I just can sincerely bestow my blessing upon you and my gratitude. I look forward to your reply and instruction.
Sincerely,
Send to: Gangzhou Team, Zhugang Village, Yaopu Township, Chuzou City
