I was born in Guojiazhuang Village, Yatou Town, Rongcheng County, Shandong Province. I am now a worker at Jinan Huangtai Power Plant, Shandong Province.
I am writing to pursue justice from the Japanese government.
In the autumn of 1942, the Japanese army raided Shandong peninsula. Over 1,000 Japanese soldiers surrounded my village and forced all villagers to a field outside the village. Then, they took my father to a field with a large pile of straw. Over 100 Japanese soldiers formed a circle around the field. Afterwards, they set fire to the straw and pushed my father into the burning fire. My father could not tolerate the burning and tried to run away from the fire, but the Japanese soldiers pushed him back into the fire, laughing wildly. This repeated several times. In the end, my father had no strength to run and was burned alive in the big fire. After my father’s tragic death, my mother kept missing my father; as a result, she also died. We, five siblings, were traumatized by the deaths of our parents and lived a very difficult and miserable life. My elder sister and two younger brothers got sick and died due to a lack of money for treatment.
Our family used to be a very happy one. However, our family was ruined by the brutality committed by the Japanese military. I demand an apology and reparation from the Japanese government.
