Complainant: Yu Wenhan, born in Shangcaiao Village, Shaxi, Xinchang, Zhejiang, now 57
My father was Yu Baoshi. On lunar April 2, 1942, the Japanese army came to our village, causing a panic among villagers. To ensure their personal and property safety, all villagers requested my father to make peace with the Japanese army. My father took on the task bravely. But when he reached Gaoyuan at the entrance to the village, the Japanese soldiers saw him and bayoneted him for 7 times. Thus, my father was killed at the age of only 37, leaving me (6), my mother (24) and my grandmother (62, blinded) to struggle on our own. The Japanese army committed a heinous crime.
I strongly demand a compensation of USD 10 million from the Japanese government for my father’s death.
