I am writing to you because you answered the reporter’s question that, “Victims should claim for compensation in a written form for themselves or their relatives.”
My uncle Wu Shilin and aunt Yang Po had only one daughter Wu Zelan . In 1943 when Japan invaded our hometown, she was only 16 years old. In that winter, after several Japanese soldiers captured and took turns raping her, they killed her by stabbing her private parts with bayonets. My uncle and aunt could only bury the hatred in their hearts and suffer from the loss of their daughter. Uncle died the next year. After living alone for a few years, my aunt suffered urgent anxiety illness, desperation and was then taken back to her mother’s family. Since then, she had been taken care of by her nephew. The poor woman died in April 1993 (at the age of 84).
The Japanese soldiers raped and killed my cousin. The losses cannot be compensated. In accordance with international laws, the Japanese government must compensate a total of 130,000 USD for the cost of supporting the 50-year life of the victim’s mother and funeral fees, etc., and including 50,000 USD for the victim’s death.
Please forward the claim materials to the Japanese government which should quickly compensate us.
