On lunar November 5, 1944, the Japanese soldiers who were stationed in the county suddenly surrounded my hometown Zhuangyuan Village. After being woken up by gunshots, the villagers either hurried into a tunnel or ran out of the village. After entering the village, the Japanese soldiers searched door by door to capture villagers and rob their property. They shouted madly, asking “Where is the Eighth Route Army? Where is Gongliangzhuang?” The Japanese soldiers found an exit to a cave during the search, so they threw poison gas bombs in it. At that time, my grandfather Wang Li was unfortunately captured by the Japanese soldiers. As he was a family member of an Eighth Route Army soldier, the Japanese soldiers ordered him to lead them to food and the Eighth Route Army. My indomitable grandfather led the Japanese soldiers circle around the street, which annoyed them. So, the cruel Japanese soldiers pushed my grandfather into the cave and bombed him to death at the exit. They also robbed my family of two heads of livestock and most of our property.
Due to this tragedy, my family lived a harder life and was nearly torn apart. Therefore, I demand damage compensation.
