Other details:I’d like to thank Mr. Tong Zeng for his greetings. I have drawn up a claim letter based on my family’s experience as victims, which describes the crimes committed by the Japanese soldiers to my family in 1938. Attached are some photos. I hope that civil victims will get compensations as soon as possible. Note: The envelope was lost.

How have you been?
Mr. Song Hang traveled far to come to my home in November to learn the facts of my suffering. He conveyed your greetings to me and left me with 200 Yuan. He said you wanted me to have the money. I initially refused but he insisted. My whole family is grateful to you. When I have the opportunity, I will give the money back to you and personally express gratitude to you on behalf of my six family members.
Mr. Tong, you have said what thousands of civilian victims like me intended to say for half a century. You have called for justice by demanding that the Japanese government apologize and compensate Chinese civilian victims. Your achievements of winning honor for the country, calming the people’s resentment, and punishing the invading Japanese army cheers the people greatly. The souls of numerous victims will smile in heaven. You are indeed an admirable person in this world. Your broad knowledge of judicial matters and great speaking ability allows you to brilliantly articulate the mind of the people has won the admiration of millions of Chinese people.
Mr. Tong, I drafted a Petition Letter to the Japanese Government from civilian citizen Wang Zecheng in December, with an attachment titled “History of Huoshan County”, which recorded the facts about how my family members were killed or injured by the hacking attacks of the brutal Japanese army in 1938. I am sending it with the letter. How I wish that with the direct care from the Party and government and with the tireless efforts and support from high-minded people like you, the date of civilian compensation would come soon.
