Other details:In the winter of 1939, my father Li Guodong was caught by the Japanese soldiers in a battle. He was taken to the station of the Japanese soldiers for “731” bacteria experiment, which directly impaired his health. In 1942, my father escaped and went back to the troops.

Comrade Tong Zeng:

My father Li Guodong was a Chinese civilian severely harmed by the invading Japanese army. He joined the 2nd Guns Division, 415 Group, 139 Army in 1939. During a battle in that winter, my father’s division was outnumbered and all the members were arrested as war prisoners. They were brutally beaten by Japanese invaders, and then handcuffed, shackled, blindfolded and taken to the Unit 731. They became objects of the Japanese army’s bacteria experiment. They were physically brutalized and mentally damaged.

In the autumn of 1942, my father went through a lot to escape from the Japanese prison and return to his division. In 1960, he was transferred from the deputy head of 2nd Guns Division, 415 Group, 139 Army to the head of the Armed Forces Department, Changchun 133 Factory. Due to the spread of bacteria, he was paralyzed for 3 years and died in 1975.

I will never forget my family’s suffering caused by Japan’s war of aggression against China.

My family has 4 members. My eldest brother Li Hexiang was born in 1955. He is unmarried and cannot take care of himself due to dementia. My second eldest brother Li Pingxiang was born in 1959. He has dementia and muscle atrophy and is paralyzed in bed as my father was. He has no source of income.

My two elder brothers have become victims of Japanese invaders and witnesses of the history and suffered a catastrophe that won’t happen in a millennium. My mother is over 60 years old, unhappy due to a heavy economic burden and weak due to diseases. This is all caused by the war half a century ago.

Comrade Tong Zeng, my whole family thank you very much for uniting victims and their family members together, for making legal requests to the Japanese government on behalf of us and for working hard to standardize and legalize the compensation work. My father would like to see what’s happening today, but he didn’t make it. He was so worried about my two elder brothers that he couldn’t close his eyes when he died. There are records of the above facts in the municipal civil affairs department and my factory. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

I am Li Chunxiang and work with the Metering Department, 133 Factory.
