Claim letter from individual Chinese civilian, towards Japan Government for damages sustained during the Japanese invasion into China
On July 7, 1937, the Japanese military government waged an all-out invasion war against China, which brought hideous disasters to peaceful Chinese people; it also brought heavy losses within my own family, including the loss of lives and property damages. I hereby demand the Japanese government to compensate RMB Two hundred and five thousand yuan.
The details are as follow:
My grandfather is Zhong Xinhuai. On September 20, 1938, the Japanese Army invaded into Zhonggen Shangyuan, Tianqing Village, Yuchuan Town, Guangji County, Hubei Province (now Wuxue City). My grandfather received severe beating from the Japanese soldiers, with his nose was off. Grandfather was literally crushed to death being placed in between two heavy stone door plate and stone mill. The Japanese soldiers also burned two of our grain heaps, and robbed one cow, one pig among other things that they took away.
On August 15, 1945, Japan, the aggressive invaders of WWII, surrendered as a defeated country. According to a series of international law documents, including “Yalta Agreement”, “Cairo Declaration”, and “Potsdam Proclamation”, one can conclude that “The invading, aggressive Nation, once defeated and surrendered, must compensate for all persecution damages and losses of the people of the victim country. ” Japan being the invading aggressive nation was defeated and surrendered; therefore, the Japanese Government is to be responsible to compensate for all persecution damages of the Chinese people, which is its undeniable responsibility. Even expatriates of Japanese descents, living in Canada and United States, have received damage compensation from the two victory nations. What excuse does the Japanese government have for not compensating for all the damage losses sustained by the Chinese people who have suffered to the fullest from the Japanese invasion? It will be punished by heaven!
Strongly demand the Japanese government to consider compensation seriously, so as to help sustain long-lasting friendship between China and Japan.
