The Chinese government has never given up damage compensation from Japan
The Chinese government gave up war reparations from Japan in 1972, but it has never given up damage compensation. The Legal Daily of May 23 published an article by young jurist Tong Zeng, in which he explained the difference between war reparations and damage compensation in accordance with the International Law: War reparations are paid by the defeated country that launched the war to the invaded countries for their losses, while damage compensation is paid by the defeated country that launched the war for violating the laws of war and humanitarian principles during the war and committing serious crimes to the people and property of the invaded countries. After the World War II, the Jews, Polish and French people claimed a large amount of damage compensation on the grounds of Nazi persecution. (Excerpt from Legal Daily)

Ye Yiqiang was infected with poison gas and died
One day in 1942, several Japanese soldiers armed with guns, led by the village headman, captured my grandfather and sent him to build an airport for the Japanese army. My grandmother cried her heart out because she just gave birth to my father some five months ago and they needed to be taken care of. Not long after that, as my grandfather couldn’t stand the abuse and oppression of the Japanese army and missed the family, he escaped on a night by catching the Japanese soldiers off guard. At that time, to consolidate its occupation in the occupied areas for the purpose of the Pacific War, the Japanese army had secretly put down a large number of biological toxins in Jinhua in addition to eliminating the anti-Japanese troops. So, on his way home after escaping from the Japanese army, my grandfather was unfortunately infected with the poison gas put down by the Japanese army. Soon, his feet became red and swollen and he felt very itchy. When scratched, the skin would bleed and fester. After my grandfather was sent home, my grandmother used all the money to get famous doctors to treat him, but in vain. So my grandfather died with hate in his heart.
This is a blood debt that the Japanese army owes to my family. Although it’s been a long time, we will never forget the debt and we strongly demand compensation from the Japanese government!
