Other details:In 1942 Zhu Xiaoxian, Yang Caicha, Xiang Yongmao and other families’ belongings were burnt. In 1943, Wu Chenghong’s son and Wu Jiangju’s daughter died of Japanese bacterial infection. Pan Lvhan’s father was forced to be a porter and killed by Japanese. Pan Baochai’s family belongings were burnt and her father was killed by Japanese troops. Wang Bao’e, Yu Binggen were killed. Xiang Jindong was forced to do labor work by Japanese and got disabled. Xiang Jinshi was also forced into labor and killed. The victims added up to 27.

After Jinhua, Zhejiang was forcibly occupied (on May 25, 1942) by the Japanese army during the anti-Japanese war, the villagers living near Bailongqiao, Jinhua suffered greatly. The victims were either shot to death, or lost their lives after captured to demolish rails or build airports, or raped. The list of victims is as follows:

The facts about the people being directly or indirectly killed by the Japanese army and the houses, furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes being burned or robbed by the Japanese army during the Sino-Japanese War are provided below:
1. Zhu Xiaoxian, female, 51, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, the commander of the Japanese troops in Tangdian was secretly killed by a Chinese soldier, so the Japanese army mobilized hundreds of soldiers to eliminate Chinese soldiers at Nanshan on lunar June 6, 1942. But the Chinese soldiers had transferred to another place, so the angry Japanese soldiers burned all houses of my village. My family’s two-story house of 3 rooms and the furniture, farming tools, 1000kg grain and clothes were all burned up by the Japanese army.
2. Yang Caicha, female, 73, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, the Japanese army raided Nanshan on lunar June 6, 1942 to eliminate Chinese soldiers and on their way they burned all houses of my village. My family’s two-story house of 5 rooms, a bungalow of 2 rooms, the furniture, farming tools, 500kg grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese army and 55 silver coins were robbed by Japanese army.
3. Victim: Wu Chenghong, male, then 5 years old, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, the Japanese army secretly used bacterial poisons in areas near Jinhua in lunar August 1943. My little son mistakenly took it. As we could not find medicine or doctors in the war time, his condition deteriorated until he died.
4. Victim: Wu Jiangju, female, then 2, Xiang Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, the Japanese army secretly used bacterial poisons in lunar September 1943. Because my daughter was weak with poor immunity, she mistakenly took the bacterial poison. Due to the lack of treatment, her condition deteriorated until she died.
5. Xiang Yongmao, male, 65, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, the commander of the Japanese troops in Tangdian was secretly killed by a Chinese soldier, so the Japanese army mobilized a large group of soldiers to raid Nanshan and eliminate Chinese soldiers on lunar June 6, 1942. But the Chinese soldiers had transferred to another place, so the angry Japanese soldiers burned all houses of my village. My family’s two-story house of 4 rooms (one of them was a shop front) and, the furniture, farming tools, 750 kg grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese army.
6. Victim: Xiang Hongxin’s mother, female, then XX years old, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, hundreds of Japanese soldiers raided Nanshan to eliminate Chinese soldiers on lunar June 6, 1942. When the Japanese soldiers just entered our village, my father was shot twice by them. My mother was so frightened by the ferocious Japanese soldiers that she blacked out and died.
7. Xiang Yongsheng, male, then __ years old, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, the Japanese army raided Nanshan to eliminate Chinese soldiers on lunar June 6, 1942. When the Japanese army just entered our village, my father was shot twice by them (one in the leg and the other in the waist). He bled profusely and blacked out. And the tin-made “Five Candlesticks” that he was carrying was robbed by the Japanese army, which was worth 1,500 yuan.
8. Pan Pinhan, male, then 31, residing in Shen Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, the Japanese army came to my village in lunar May 1942 to capture strong men and rape women. Unfortunately, my father was captured on his way back home from mountains and was ordered to fetch grain as a laborer. After carrying supplies for the Japanese army to Jinhua, he was beaten to death there.
9. Pan Baochai’s brother, male, then 5 years old, residing in Shen Village, Andi Town
After the fall of Jinhua, in lunar August 1942, my family’s house and the grain, clothes, furniture and farming tools in it were burned by the Japanese army. As the grain was burned and my father was killed, there was nothing to eat. At that time, my elder brother was very young. He was so frightened and later starved to death.
10. Pan Baochai, female, 49, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, the commander of the Japanese troops in Tangdian was secretly killed by a Chinese soldier, so the Japanese army mobilized a large group of soldiers to raid Nanshan and eliminate Chinese soldiers on lunar June 6, 1942. As soon as the Japanese army entered Shen Village, they began to burn houses. They burned all houses of my village. My family’s two-story house of 3 rooms, 1 bungalow and them furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese army.
11. Victim: Shen Hongying, female, then 18, Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, a large group of Japanese soldiers raided Nanshan to crack down Chinese soldiers on lunar June 6, 1942. But the Chinese soldiers transferred to another place, so the Japanese soldiers burned all houses of my village. My wife saw the ferocious Japanese soldiers with her own eyes and was so frightened that she got ill. Despite treatment, she didn’t get better and soon died.
12. Xiang Aixuan, female, 58, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, a large group of Japanese soldiers raided Nanshan to crack down Chinese soldiers on lunar June 6, 1942. The Japanese soldiers burned all houses of my village. My family’s two-story house of 10 rooms(located at Qianqian),and another two-story house of 3 rooms and a bungalow of 3 rooms (located at Shangdianji), the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese soldiers.
13. Victim: Wang Baoe, female, then 31, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, her family’s house and the furniture, farming tools and grain were burned by the Japanese army in lunar August 1942. In order to make a living, she left for another place, but encountered the Japanese army on the way and was killed.
14. Xiang Jindong, male, 84, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, my family’s house was burned by the Japanese army on lunar June 6, 1942. My father had to leave the hometown to make a living. Unfortunately, he encountered Japanese army and was captured to be a laborer. He was forced to build an airport at Wubaitan, Jinhua. The Japanese army treated Chinese laborers like animals, so he had to do heavy work every day. The food was very bad and they lived like animals. Besides, even with the slightest error in work, they would be beaten badly by the Japanese army using gun-stock (?). Due to long-term heavy work, exhaustion and bad food, my father caught a fever one day and couldn’t work. He was brutally beaten to half death. Luckily, he tried hard to escape to go home. But then we were poor and had no medicine to buy, so my father became disabled.
15. Xiang Xianlin, male, 59, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, the Japanese army raided Nanshan on lunar June 6, 1942 to eliminate Chinese soldiers and on their way they burned all houses of my village. Our house was then located at Wufentou. Our two-story house of 9 rooms, a bungalow of 2 rooms, the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese army.
16. Xiang Jinyu, male, 76, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, the Japanese army raided Nanshan on lunar June 6, 1942 to eliminate Chinese soldiers and on their way they burned all houses of my village. My family then lived at Qiantou. Our two-story house of 4 rooms, a bungalow of 4 rooms, the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese army.
17. Yu Binggen, then 28, residing on Neifushang Street, Jinhua
After the fall of Jinhua, the commander of the Japanese troops in Tangdian was secretly killed by a Chinese soldier, so the Japanese army mobilized a large group of soldiers to raid Nanshan and eliminate Chinese soldiers on lunar June 6, 1942. But beforehand the Chinese soldiers had already transferred to another place, so the Japanese army was furious. My cousin was from Jinhua, in order to avoid being beaten by the Japanese army, three of us hid among the bushes. We were discovered and captured by the Japanese army. They forced my cousin to tell the truth, but he had no idea about what’s going on and didn’t know what to say. He was instantly stabbed to death.

Our house was then located at Xiajiaotou, Qiantou. Our two-story house of 5 rooms, the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were burned by the Japanese army.

My family’s two-story house of 4 1/2 rooms, and the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes within them were all burned by the Japanese soldiers.

My family’s two-story house of 1 ½ rooms, the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese soldiers.
The other two-story house of 1 1/2 rooms were owned by three families – Yougui, Youshi and Yourong.

After the fall of Jinhua, hundreds of Japanese soldiers raided Nanshan on lunar June 6, 1942 to eliminate Chinese soldiers and on their way they burned all houses of my village. Our house was then located at Qianqian, Qiantou. Our two-story house of 1 1/2 rooms, the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese soldiers.

25. Shen Xiaonai, female, 83, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, hundreds of Japanese soldiers raided Nanshan on lunar June 6, 1942 to eliminate Chinese soldiers and on their way they burned all houses of my village. Our house was then located at Shangdianji. My family’s two-story house of 3 rooms, a bungalow of 2 rooms, the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese soldiers.
26. Victim: Xiang Jintao, male, then 27, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, my younger brother was captured by the Japanese army to be a laborer in lunar August 1942. Not long after my brother was sent to build an airport in Wubai Beach, Jinhua,the Japanese army inhumanly treated Chinese coolies as animal; they had to do heavy work every day. The food was very bad; they lived like animals. Due to long-term heavy work and bad food, my younger brother became very weak. Not long after he was captured, he got a fever and couldn’t work. The Japanese soldiers forced him to work. They cruelly beat him with gun-stock and killed him alive. My brother would not have died because of his illness.
27. Xiang Zhicheng, male, 51, residing in Xiang Village, Andi Town.
After the fall of Jinhua, hundreds of Japanese soldiers raided Nanshan on lunar June 6, 1942 to eliminate Chinese soldiers and on their way they burned all houses of my village. Our house was then located at Qianqian. Our two-story house of 3 rooms, 1 bungalow. the furniture, farming tools, grain and clothes were all burned by the Japanese soldiers.
