China Research Center on Aging:
Dear comrades and fellows! We learn that you are actively working on voicing for the Chinese fellow citizens who were killed by the Japanese army, searching for information and seeking for reliable legal ground. In this respect, we would like to show our deep gratitude for your hard work. We tell how our grandfather and little daddy were killed brutally by the Japanese army as follows and please accept our claims for reparation.
We are from Xiadong Village, Dongzhang Township, Fushan County of Shanxi Province. In 1943, the Japanese army came to Fushan, burned, killed and looted everywhere, pursuing the inhuman ‘Sanguang’ policy (the policy of ‘burn all, kill all, loot all’). On August 28th, 1943 (of lunar calendar), they invaded our village, captured my grandfather Zhang Dagen and my father Zhang Kunhui , tortured them ruthlessly and beat them to death . My grandfather was 47 years old and my father was 23 at the time. Here we accuse the Japanese army of their monstrous crimes again and solemnly ask for reparations for the victims.
We hope and believe that our rightful requests will be implemented. What we had gone through gets (get) sympathy and support (for what we had gone through). Thank(s) you again for your diligent efforts.
